Administrative / Biographical History
John Maxwell Graham was born in Glasgow in 1847 , son of Charles Maxwell Graham, a merchant. On the 22nd July 1875, John was appointed as the Assistant Registrar of Births etc to Peter Ferguson for the district of Dennistoun (Glasgow). John studied medicine at the University of Glasgow during the sessions 1876-77, 1878-79, 1879-80, 1880-81 and 1881-82. He does not appear to have graduated from Glasgow University and may have completed his studies at another institution. According to his grandson, Charles Robert Graham, John pursued military and professional careers, but further details are unknown.
