Administrative / Biographical History
Jim Mearns was born in 1959 in Glasgow, Scotland. He started at the University of Glasgow in 1977. He took ordinary mathematics and ordinary archaeology in 1977-1978, higher computing science, honours 1 mathematics and ordinary philosophy in 1978-1979, and advanced mathematics, higher archaeology, English literature (ordinary A) in 1979-1980. In 1980-1981 he studied junior honours archaeology and progressed to senior honours archaeology in 1981-1982. He graduated with a BSc in 1982 and went on to a career as a marketing manager. He now works in local government.
