  Material pertaining to HMS Western Isles and the naval base in Tobermory. Commodore Gilbert Stephenson in charge. HMS Western Isles was formerly the Batavier Line “Batavier IV” before being commandeered by the navy. Launched 1902. 260ft long and 1568 tons. Did not return to Batavier Line after the war and remained in static role until 1970
