These are the minutes of the Burgh of Govan Police Commissioners and, after 1901, the minutes are of the Magistrates and Town Council. The first five volumes include abstracts of revenue and expenditure and a number of items pasted in which have been described in the entries with their page numbers.
By 1907 the Govan Town Council had the following committees: Street, Roads and Bridges; Cleansing; Watching and Lighting; Repairs and Buildings; Halls; Electricity; Sanitary; Public Health; Baths; Parks; Finance; Hospital; Accounts; and Distress.
The draft minutes at H-GOV1/3 include some reports and correspondence which may not have been transcribed into the main minutes series here so should be read in conjunction.
