Scope and Content
Some hospital records were listed in the original catalogue (H-PAR22-24) and some were amongst the uncatalogued papers at H-PAR41. The former include a number of bundles which had been numbered in blue pencil from 1-29 (with some missing) and this arrangement has been retained at H-PAR7/5/1.
There are papers that refer to the hospital amongst the committee papers at H-PAR1/21, particularly H-PAR1/21/25, 43 and 50, and at H-PAR2/6. Because the hospital was built jointly with the Burghs of Hillhead and Maryhill, there are also papers relating to its establishment at H-HIL and H-MAR. After Glasgow took over those burghs in 1891, relevant papers after that date will appear in the Glasgow records.
A large number of financial vouchers, i.e. bills from suppliers, and tenders were kept by year. The majority of these were not retained (see H-PAR7/4).
