Includes an Act for the Abatement of the Nuisance arising from the Smoke of furnaces in Scotland, 1857 with amendments 1861 and 1865; the Coatbridge Burgh Act 1885; Smoke Nuisance in London - report of the Chief Officer of the Public Control Department, 1904; Proof by Colin Park, Senior Smoke Inspector, for the Glasgow Corporation Order with list of prosecutions, 1921; details of work carried out by smoke inspectors, 1924; Smoke Abatement in Bengal, 1926; Report by the Town Clerk with regard to the prosecution of smoke offences occurring in the harbour, docks and River Clyde, 1929; Report on Air Purification and Smoke Abatement for the Committee on Environmental Services, 1930; Method of Determination of Duration and Density of Smoke Emission from Industrial Chimneys, 1930; letter from the Ministry of Transport on smoke emissions from vehicles, 1931; and memorandum to divisional medical officers on an application for bone boiling by WAH [William Horne?], 1954.
