Scope and Content
Applications for Interment. The forms were in two parts. The part still in the volume gives: the burying ground; number of lair; name and address of lair holder; name, age, condition and relation to lairholder of the deceased; depth; and how disposed of (ie granted). The part sent out to the applicant notifies them of whether the burial can be carried out in conformity with the Cemetery Bye-Laws and with no objections on public health grounds. The burial grounds mentioned are: Gorbals Old Burying Ground, High Church New Burial Ground, Cathedral (High Church), High Church Old Burying Ground, Govan Old Parish Churchyard, Abercrombie Street, Cathcart Old Churchyard and Craigton.
