• Scope and Content

  Correspondence and papers relating to the registration and renewal of the Harris Tweed trade mark in various countries around the world. Correspondence predominantly between McKenna & Co., Cruikshank & Fairweather, Computer Patent Annuities (CPA), Marks & Clerk and the HTA. Cruikshank & Fairweather took over from McKenna & Co. as the HTA's trade mark lawyers in around 1987, and CPA were/are their associates. In 2004 Cruikshank & Fairweather were rebranded as Marks & Clerk. Some of the early files also contain mentions of trade mark infringements, and some of the later files also contain trade mark or name watching information.
