• Scope and Content

  The volume starts with a description and specification of the hospital and fittings and a copy of the letter to the Board of Supervision outlining the proposal. The minutes are concerned initially with construction. From March 1874 the volumes include monthly medical reports on admissions for typhus, enteric fever, scarlet fever, smallpox and others. From January 1880 the names of patients admitted are included giving their name, age, address, burgh, result (whether cured, died or remaining), date of discharge, number of days under treatment and the diagnosis.
