Scope and Content
The Committee dealt with permissions to keep swine; infectious cases being sent to the Infirmary; cleansing; lodging houses; nuisances etc. Attached to the minutes for 13 February 1871 is a report on the health of the Burgh by James Paterson, Medical Officer of Health, which gives an analysis of the causes of death. At 15 March 1871 there is a comparison of registrations in Partick and Glasgow. At 8 September 1873, 30 October 1873 and 5 January 1874 are other reports by Paterson. There is also included a newspaper cutting on a meeting of the Partick Commissioners of 8 October 1873 to discuss Dr Littlejohn's Report to the Board of Supervision on charges made by Govan Parochial Board against the Burgh.
