    Letter under the privy seal by Mary Queen of Scots, setting forth the ruined state of the University and College, its schools and chambers standing half built, the endowments of its teachers and the provision made for its poor scholars having ceased; founding therefore bursaries for five poor children, to be called Bursars of the Queen Mary's Foundation, and to be presented by the Queen's grace and her successors ; and granting to the College for their support the mace and 'kirkroom' of the Black Friars of Glasgow, together with 13 acres of land in the city, 20 merks yearly from the Nethertoun of Hamilton, 10 bolls of oatmeal yearly from certain lands in the Lennox, and 10 merks yearly from the lands and lordship of Avondale.

    Charter by Queen Mary I granting to the provosts, the bailies, council, and and community of the city of Glasgow, for the support of their own ministers and the erection and endowment of hospitals, all the lands, tenements, churches, chapels, dues, profits, and pertinents belonging to any chapels, altarages, prebends in whatever churches, chapels or colleges in the said city, together with all the mansions, annual rents and dues which formerly belonged to the Dominican or Franciscan friars within the said city, and with all the annual rents from any lands or houses in Glasgow due to any chapels, altarages or churches in Scotland, or the rents and duties exigible from the provosts and bailies of the burgh. By this charter, all former rights to the subject are revoked and the several subjects are united in one body to be called the Queen's foundation of the Ministry and Hospital of Glasgow, and one sasine is to be sufficient for all.

    Confirmation by King James VI of the gift by Queen Mary to the city of Glasgow of all the lands and houses pertaining to the chantries, altarages, prebendaries, and to the vicars and the Black and Grey friars of Glasgow. He also adds the third of the teinds with the surplus of all altarages, chantries, churches, colleges, annual rents and other commodities of all prebendaries and altarages founded within Glasgow Cathedral and all other churches, chapels or colleges in Glasgow for the sustenance of the 'Ministry' as the previous gift was not sufficient because the prebendaries were to keep their benefits for their lifetime.
